FIRST EDITION. ** Antiquarian volume features full-leather binding with gilt lines along edges, and blind-tooled lettering on spine. Volume displays commensurate overall wear and aging. Boards exhibit overall rubbing, as well as some fading and dust. Covers show notable edgewear, with exposed boards at corners, as well as bumping of foot corners, with pronounced rubbing and some creasing at head corner on back, and faded ink writing on front. Spine displays overall rubbing and cracking, with a 0.25" hole near foot, and a chip to head, going 0.5" into spine. Binding is overall secure, with some cracking and gapping to hinges. Front hinge displays a 1.75" split from head. Front pastedown exhibits sticker residue near head edge, and back pastedown has some pencil writing. Edges are dry and cracked. Endpapers are toned with marginal offsets, going 0.5" into pages. Preliminary pages are missing up to title page. Title page is detached. Title page as well as first preface page exhibit offset along edges, going 0.75" maximum into page, and persisting faintly onto a couple following pages. Interior is toned throughout, with scattered foxing, and occasional corner creasing. Inside pages are free of writing and intentional marks. Inside pages occasionally display edgewear, and are dry with some cracking at end of book. Text block edges exhibit commensurate toning with minor damp staining to head, and some ink staining to lower part of fore edge.
