9 ½ in. x 11 ¾ in., [4]pp., [1]-317 pp. Bound in old tree calf sides, with the spine replaced in more recent, antique-style calf; featuring five raised bands, red morocco title label, gilt-lettered: SALLUS ET FLORUS, simple, blindstamped floral tooling in compartments; old calf covers show a triple-line borders, single line on the cover edges, and borders on the leather turn-ins; all edges stained dark blue, sewn headbands, with dark green silk bookmarker bound in, early marbled paper-covered endpapers. Half-title shows some tanning to the edges, light crease to lower right margin; tanning to flyleaves; tiny hole in center of page 73-74, small bumps/creasing to upper corners of pp. 105-137, crease to back (later) watermarked flyleaf. Cover edges show some wear, covers show age-related abrasions to the leather surface, with loss of leather surface, flaking off of part of the tree designs. Former owner's bookplate on front paste-down. Text is generally clean & crisp, with good sized margins. Scan shows the spine & part of the front cover. Weight: 3 lbs.
