Hardcover, no dust jacket - full grey cloth over boards with black lettering stamped on spine and front; spine with tricolor badge, front with tricolor circle emblem; brown endpapers. Sewn binding. 86 pages, with illustrations, tables, and charts, and 720 numbered color samples pasted on both sides of 25 sheets of heavy stock paper. 1st Edition, presumed 1st Printing. CONDITION: VERY GOOD, binding lightly cocked and shaken, front hinge cracked; text pages unmarked, but some color sample chips are annotated with color names in English. Pages with glued on color samples are wavy, apparently from age and humidity fluctuations. EX-LIBRARY, carrying an institutional book plate on front pastedown, an inked name on the ffep, and accession stamps on ffep, half-title, and full-title pages. CONTENT: The text (first 32 pp) is divided into two introductory parts. Part 1 is an eleven-page introduction by Paul Klincksieck, who developed the original color scheme presented here in a1906 paper (entitled "Un nouveau repertoire des couleurs a l'usage des naturalistes"). Part 2, by Th. Valette, expands on Klincksieck's work and explains his color theory. Following the text, on pages 33-83, are original color examples glued to the pages in labeled grids. The book ends with a glossary of the names of the 10 primary colors arranged as a table in 18 languages. A table of contents appears at the very end. The numbers printed below the original color chips are often augmented with color names in English written neatly in black ink. N° de ref. del artículo 003120
