Beautiful color plates of different scenes in Egypt are interspersed among the pages of text. Augustus Osborne Lamplough (1877-1930) was an English painter, illustrator, and author. Lamplough is perhaps best-known for his watercolor paintings. He was employed as a lecturer at the Leeds School of Art during which time he traveled to Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and other parts of North Africa. Many of his artworks depict places such as these.
