Ardizzone's Hans Andersen, Andre Deutsch, 1978, Illustrated First Edition, First Impression A collection of fourteen tales by Hans Andersen including favourites like The Snow Queen, The Ugly Duckling and the Little Mermaid, together with one or two of the shorter , lesser-known stories. Edward Ardizzone had always wanted to illustrate a collection of his favourite stories and with this book he has fulfilled his wish. His black and white drawings show how well he understood the moods of the characters and his colour work is beautiful. A First Edition, First Impression in near fine condition. The binding is straight and tight, the boards clean and the lettering on the front board and spine bright. The illustrated end papers and pages are free from mark, tears or inscriptions. The top edge fully retains its original red tint. The clipped dust jacket is in very good condition with slight shelf wear to the top edge of the spine and a crease mark to the top edge of the back cover. This is a lovely book which would make a nice addition to a library or a wonderful gift. Will be dispatched wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box. N° de ref. del artículo 02437
