CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: The noted naturalist and writer's excellent account of northern hunting, sport and travel. He states; "In 1907 I set out to journey by canoe down the Athabaska and adjoining waters to the sole remaining forest wilds--the far north-west of Canada--and the yet more desert Arctic Plains, where still, it was said, were to be seen the Caribou in their primitive condition." With full page hand-written letter from noted book collector and philanthropist Alfred H. Howell gifting the book to a close friend. From the tone and content of the letter, it's clear he was an admirer of the book; nice association copy of the scarce first British edition. N° de ref. del artículo 5801411
