24 pages inside slightly stiffened covers, this is an unfortunately poor condition copy of Stanmore CC's 100th anniversary publication of 1953. The historical survey of the Club is a fine 11-page article which is not attributed; Sir Pelham Warner then looks at great players who played for the Club (such as Vernon Royle, Gilbert Jessop, Douglas Ward Carr and John Daniell), Bill Edrich recalls his first partnership with Denis Compton for a Middlesex team, at Stanmore; Reg Hayter covers the beginning of the British Empire XI and Stanmore's regular matches with this team; and several benefit matches are then covered with photographs and scores. The front cover curls upwards at is open side, wear and creasing at edges and corners, marked and chipped; internally fairly clean though corners are thumbed or bent and staples are oxidised; rear covers have a series of rust marks on open side, possibly having been stored badly in the past; Accompanying this brochure is a copy of the Centenary Dinner menu, held 10 April 1953, which has been SIGNED in pencil on the rear blank side by DOUGLAS JARDINE (Jardine having been a speaker at the dinner), and in pen by JOHN WARR (he likewise was a speaker).
