Pp.252. Signed on f.e.p. by the author. The signature is a little shaky suggesting it was signed in her later years. Loosely inserted is a colored artistic card signed Valdi which reads: "It isn't for everyone I would brave the old girl for the signature! It isn't everyone I would re-enter these walls for either Love Valdi." Also inserted is a press clipping from The Sunday Times 10 May, 1998 with piece with photographs about one of Lavin's daughters being unhappy about book by Leah Levenson titled The Four Seasons of Mary Lavin.This resulted in the book being stalled. Light wear & stains to d.j. and nick to lower rear d.j. cover. Black book covers are crisp and bright as is the gilt title and other spine details. N° de ref. del artículo 020827

Inscribed by the author to "Elisabeth Schnack, from Mary Lavin, March 1964" on the front free endpaper, and with the recipient's Zurich address stamp below in green ink. Elisabeth Schnack (1899-1992) was a literary scholar of Swiss origin, and a prolific translator of English literature into German, with a particular interest in Irish writers, her exchange year while a student at the University of Geneva having been spent in Dublin. Octavo. Original black board, spine lettered and decorated in gilt. With dust jacket. Spine gently rolled, front board a touch bowed.
