Kings' Masque, Evan John, William Heinemann Ltd, 1941, First Edition, First Impression, Signed This novel, following his success with 'Crippled Splendour', deals with the French Revolution, the Queen of Austria, and her affair with the Swedish Count Axel Von Fersen. This is a First Edition, First Impression in very good condition signed by the author on a loosely inserted Book Society book plate. The binding is straight and tight, the boards are slightly worn with a sun bleached spine, the picture on the front cover is bright. The end papers and pages are clean without marks, tears or inscriptions with toning to the very early and late pages. The top edge has retained its red tint. There is slight foxing to the foredge. The unclipped dustjacket is in good condition, complete with some slight shelf wear to the bottom edge and sun damage to the spine. Will be despatched wrapped in bubblewrap and in a cardboard box.
