You did in one respect-by returing to the country. You are more fortunate than I am by having a pension-which is one reason, & maybe the only one, for engaging in a business rather than a profession. My wife echoes yours. I don't mind Mrs. H. going without clothes as she rivals the Venus of the Capitoline, but she'll never starve so long as my vegetable garden goes on producing. On the whole, as you no doubt have a hobby to ride, you are to be congratulated. Until we meet at the 50th Founder's Night. Yrs. OH. [Oswald Hering] July 29. This letter shows one horizontal fold from being folded for mailing. Some of the areas mentioned in the travels: Ceylon, India, Java, Bali, China, Korea, Japan, Peru, Panama Canal, Chile, Brazil; Oberammergau; Natchez, Mississippi. Sold together only, the inscribed copy and the autograph letter. N° de ref. del artículo ABE-867374548
