An extra illustarted copy with Claretie's engraved card mounted on front blank, a two page autograph signed letter from Claretie, dated 1903 on 'Le Livre Contemporain'., headed paper with a colour design by Georges Auriol. A fine watercolour drawing to the half-title of an arab marksman, signed by Jazet and dated 1886. A fine hand painted title-page signed. Three versions of the engraved portrait, an engraved portrait by Dubouchet , a further engraved portrait of Clareti, a further hand-coloured portrait of Claretie by Renouard, a colour portrait of Claretie by Sem, a further portrait of Claretie in uniform.
