Descripción

Original program for the premiere of Lina Wertmuller's 1967 play, "2+2 non fa piu' 4" ("Two and Two Are No Longer Four"), the production that essentially launched her career as a filmmaker. Wertmuller's first work was as a production assistant on Fellini's "8-1/2," followed by her first first two films. These two efforts fared poorly at the box office, and she decided to return to theater and television. She directed her friend, the popular actor Giancarlo Giannini, is a television production, "Rita the Mosquito" (1966), and Giannini subsequently recommended this play to Franco Zeffirelli, who agreed to stage it. The play became her first critical success, and the breakthrough allowed Giannini and Wertmuller to film "The Seduction of Mimi" (1972), which set the stage for her subsequent worldwide fame with "Swept Away" (1974) and "Seven Beauties" (1975). Included are biographies of the play's principal cast members, along with short essays by Wertmuller and Zeffirelli. Glossy card wrappers, 18 pages, Very Good plus with light rubbing to the wrappers.
