A collection of 35 manuscript receipts, each on a small piece of folded paper, issued to various trades and others, with an outer wrapper titled 'Dean of Guild precepts Michaelmas 1815 to Michaelmas 1816'. Each with the name of the recipient, the task performed or goods and services provided. These include masons, cleaners, suppliers of cloth for uniforms, coals, keepers of the town clocks and wells and pumps, dykers, gardeners, suppliers of horse and carts for various uses, lamp lighting, school upkeep, street cleaning, etc. There is a receipt paid for riding the marches. All receipts list the person involved, a detail of the task, and the amount paid. All in all a representative cross section of the various jobs and services needed to maintain a burgh at that time, and a rare survival. N° de ref. del artículo 24363
