Sinopsis: The creative works that have been written on the life of Jesus of Nazareth have generally been flawed by attempts at either theological agendas or adventurous heresy. As an author, I found the character of the man as revealed through his escapades, teachings, and interactions with people, mission statement and wit to be great subject matter for a novel filled with mystery, intrigue, romance, and situation comedy. On top of that, the existing synoptic Gospels, the Gospel of John and the historical record afford such a tantalizing outline of a story that the instinct to write it was just natural. I'M . . .the legend of the son of man is a first-person account, a diary of sorts, of the emotions, insight, and personality of this great character. It is neither offensive theologically, or predictable in its conclusions because it deals with the heart of the individual, not focusing on the mind-set or belief system. Enjoy the tale.

The sounds of religion; listening for more, hearing the hum of silence disguised as reverence.
A man lived, if he did.
He worked in a shop, if there was.
A man of destiny, if such exists.
Gave his life, if there was life to give.
He loved people, if they knew him.
Had the touch of healing, if an anointing flowed.
Raised the dead, if rumors can be believed.
He was tempted, if he got around.
Like us, if he was part of the gang.
Talk of God, if one can be found.
Women around, and never kissed?
Books written, no suspense.
Story told, empty pews.
Son of man, son of God.
Human life or just a fraud?
The reason we can’t hear from the horse’s mouth is because the beast can’t talk. We could follow it around and observe its ways. We could watch how it drinks and runs and learn of its drive and passion. After such a lesson we might not call the beast a "beast" and it an "it." Who knows?
If God became a dog, would He bark and growl at strangers, poop on the carpet, and beg crumbs from the table?
God, as a worm—just good bait, or burrowing in the ground making a muddy nest?
How about God "donning the down"—a duck? Would He quack or possess the ability to appear Mandarin, but have the unfair insight to stay south all year ‘round to avoid the foolish flight back and forth?
If God were a man . . . aah, now there’s the test.
Would He be man-like or endowed with advantage?
God the cheater.
"Cheater, Cheater, Cheater! Cheaters never prosper."
Nail the imposter to a cross!
What if He didn’t cheat? Is there a Jesus? Was he a man? If he became the kind of man described in the Synoptic accounts, and he had to learn all those lessons to get there, then like any other flesh unit he had to experience certain discoveries to become the person he was proclaimed to be.
A carpenter who tells no parables of carpentry. Did he like it?
A single man surrounded by women. Monkified or tantalized?
An intense man with great emotion. Mellow or passionate?
A cleanser of temples. Dutiful or angry?
A family man. Reluctant or motivated?
I wrote this book because I thought it might be nice to speculate on how Jesus might tell his own story based upon the events surrounding his life and who he turned out to be. Maybe you can write a better one. I shall be your first sale.
It is not a new Bible. The old one is fine.
It is not a prophecy. I am no prophet.
It is not religious. I am a bawdy man, I be.
Suspend disbelief and let the tale weave some wonder. You will receive what you carry out with a child’s heart.
My protagonist phrased it this way: Your faith will make you whole.
Well said! Enjoy—Behold the man!
