[From Introduction] In the ten years that have elapsed since the death of Guido Farina, his paintings have been the object of increasing attention both in Italy and elsewhere. Recent exhibitions of his work have been held in England, Sweden and the United States, and articles on it continue to appear in numerous journals. Reproductions of his paintings have so far been made available to a select public only, notably in the catalogue to the Commemorative Exhibition held in Verona in 1959 and in the volume containing the plates of a calendar for the year 1965 printed by the Cassa di Risparmio of Padua and Rovigo. The present work is the first book to be published on Farina. The authors have made a close study of his paintings, almost all of them at first hand; they have visited the scenes where he worked; they have talked with his friends and colleagues, and above all with his widow, Signora Olga Farina, to whom this book is dedicated. For all the help they have received they are most grateful?.Though based on a thorough preparation, this book is not intended to be a definitive study, for which the time is not yet ripe. It is, rather, an introduction to the art of Farina. The section entitled The Life of Guido Farina is a short biography which sets out to describe the background to the author's life and work and to establish the factual. Data of his development as an artist. The section entitled An Appreciation fo the Art of Guido Farina is a preliminary guide to the experience of his paintings. Not all his works are there discussed, not even all his masterpieces, but those that are, it may be claimed, represent the essential Farina. N° de ref. del artículo 20200526002
