European book buyers can shop comfortably on the new web sites knowing their needs have been provided for. All functions and services on and are available in German and French respectively including: customer service support, localized content, and payment options that incorporate the new euro.

“Though the internet is global, we recognize European customers have different needs than North American customers when shopping online,” says Brent James, abebooks CEO. “Being able to navigate through a web site in their preferred language and purchase using a method they are familiar with is key for customers. That’s where abebooks fills the gap.” and are supported by abebooks renowned database, which currently offers over 35 million books. In addition, the new web sites offer inventory from abebooks’ worldwide network of independent booksellers, which include foreign language titles, and some of the hardest to find titles anywhere.
