Descripción Michael Joseph Ltd, London, 1981. Hardcover. Estado de conservación: Near Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. Jacket by Eric Pullan Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First published as a collected edition in 1975, this is a sixth impression of 1981. Some slight edge wear to top and bottom of jacket and spine, not price clipped (£7.95), no inscriptions, internally clean tight and square, overall a vg++ copy for its age, looks hardly read. 442pp. Comprises James Herriot's first two books 'If Only They Could Talk' and 'It Shouldn't Happen To a Vet', together with three chapters from 'Let Sleeping Vets Lie'. James Alfred Wight (1916-95), known by the pen name James Herriot, was a British veterinary surgeon and writer, who used his many years of experiences as a veterinary surgeon to write a series of books each consisting of stories about animals and their owners. He is best known for these semi autobiographical works, and the British television series adapted from his books, starring Christopher Timothy, Robert Hardy and Peter Davison. Please note, the jacket design differs from the 'stock image' and shows a young James Herriot cuddling a jack russell terrier. Nº de ref. de la librería 005066
