Binding remains firm. Pen inscription to front endpaper. Faint black marks to rear endpaper. Boards have slight edge wear with corner bumping. Minor crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is bright and clear. Book has a slight forward lean. Unclipped jacket. Panels have moderate edge wear with chips, tears and creasing. Faint black marks and rubbing overall.

Previous owner appears to have taped edges to prevent further damage as well as filled in the spine panel with blue marker in an attempt to correct sun fading - it's worked surprisingly well. DJ is now house in a protective mylar cover. Book is bound in green cloth over boards with gold lettering on the spine. Cloth has some spotting/wear, but is generally crisp and clean. Corners are square. Binding is tight and secure. Toned tape residue on both front and rear end papers from where DJ was previously held in place. Previous owners name is written in the top right corner of the FFEP. SIGNED by Brooks on the FFEP. Pages are otherwise crisp, clean, and bright. Images are printed in B&W. 585 pages. Putnam. No publication date on title page. Copyright page is dated 1962. A good copy. This volume comes from the Aviation collection of Prof. Chris Sterling.
