Unknown Photographer Ilustrador. 5" x 8" sepia-toned photo, signed "Mr. Carey, Douglas Corrigan"no date on photo, c1rca 1929?.Corrigan was an American aviator born in Galveston, Texas. He was nicknamed "Wrong Way" in 1938. After a transcontinental flight from Long Beach, California, to New York City, he flew from Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn, New York, to Ireland, though his flight plan was filed to return to Long Beach. He claimed his unauthorized flight was due to a navigational error, caused by heavy cloud cover that obscured landmarks and low-light conditions, causing him to misread his compass. He had been denied permission to make a nonstop flight from New York to Ireland, and his "navigational error" was seen as deliberate. Nevertheless, he never publicly admitted to having flown to Ireland intentionally Size: 5" x 8". Signed & Inscribed By Notable.

The condition of this piece has been graded as A-: Near Mint, very light signs of handling. Here is some supplemental information about the Lithograph: In this surrealist composition, a young boy in a striped shirt sits in a doorway, gazing at a mural painted on a nearby wall. The mural depicts a river winding through lush mountains, where below, another boy dressed in Aladdin-style white garb, barefoot and shielding his eyes, appears captivated by the scene. Light streams in from a large window, inviting the boy into this dreamlike landscape. The artist captures a moment where two boys from different worlds seem to meet, reflecting both the cultural divergences and the shared beauty of the realms they inhabit. Signed.
