Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: new. Paperback. This volume is concerned with the control and dynamics of time delay systems; a research field with at least six-decade long history that has been very active especially in the past two decades. In parallel to the new challenges emerging from engineering, physics, mathematics, and economics, the volume covers several new directions including topology induced stability, large-scale interconnected systems, roles of networks in stability, and new trends in predictor-based control and consensus dynamics. The associated applications/problems are described by highly complex models, and require solving inverse problems as well as the development of new theories, mathematical tools, numerically-tractable algorithms for real-time control. The volume, which is targeted to present these developments in this rapidly evolving field, captures a careful selection of the most recent papers contributed by experts and collected under five parts: (i) Methodology: From Retarded to Neutral Continuous Delay Models, (ii) Systems, Signals and Applications, (iii): Numerical Methods, (iv) Predictor-based Control and Compensation, and (v) Networked Control Systems and Multi-agent Systems. This book covers the control and dynamics of time delay systems, from its six-decade history to new texhniques designed to meet the many new challenges that are emerging from engineering, physics, mathematics, and economics. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Añadir al carritoBuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book focuses on the partial spectral discretization (PSD)-based eigenvalue computation methods for large-scale time-delay systems. Due to past-dependence in the evolution of a system, time delays may greatly affect the system's dynamics. For example, wide-area damping controllers in the interconnected power systems are fed by remote synchrophasor measurements and thus inevitably introduce time delays into the control loop. These delays ranging from tens to hundreds of milliseconds can deteriorate the performance of the controllers and further jeopardize the power system stability. Therefore, this book addresses two classes of efficient eigenvalue computation methods for time-delay systems based on the PSD idea, as well as their applications to power systems with inclusion of time delays. The methods are expected to obtain the accurate stability boundary of time-delay systems with affordable computational burden. This book would appeal to engineers, researchers and graduate students in power and control engineering, as well as computational and applied mathematicians.

Añadir al carritoTaschenbuch. Condición: Neu. Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book presents research advancements in the dynamics of systems with time delay conducted by the group led by Professor Jian Xu. Addressing the challenges arising from the joint impact of time delay and nonlinearity, novel theoretical approaches are developed to formulate the nonlinear response of the system. This facilitates the classification of complex nonlinear dynamics, especially the non-resonant and resonant double Hopf bifurcation. In contrast to systems without time delay, time delay systems require specific considerations when identifying system parameters, particularly the time delay. Consequently, inverse problems of systems with time delay are also explored in this book. Moreover, detailed investigations on vibration suppression methods and experimental prototypes based on time delay, such as time delay isolators with quasi-zero stiffness, are conducted. Simultaneously, this book is enriched with a large number of case studies ranging from manufacturing, network science, biology, and public transportation, illuminating the mechanisms of delay-induced nonlinear dynamics in practical applications. This book is suitable for graduate students and researchers who are eager to understand the delay-induced nonlinear dynamics, or technical personnel in whose projects small variations of time delay may cause significant changes in system responses.

Añadir al carritoTaschenbuch. Condición: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - This book has as its main objective the study of methods for analysis and control of time-delay systems. The link between all the themes is the use of methods in frequency domain as the basic tools. Therefore, we achieve results with low degree of conservatism in synthesis, and necessary and sufficient conditions in analysis, which is, up to now, virtually impossible via the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional. We can also deal in the same framework with the class of fractional systems, a subject which is gaining importance both in theoretical as well as in practical aspects of engineering. Time-Delay Systems are dealt here in a broad sense, with theoretical results covering both the analysis and synthesis of filters and controllers. Some applied computational points are also presented.
