There is also one rubber stamp on back of 1st title page of a Public Library but no other markings from them, they presumably had it professionally rebound in the current binding with gilt titling to spine. A small lib card holder has been removed from inside cover. Still well bound. Interior in used but generally nice clean condition, the occasional pencil margin note could be erased but maybe of interest. It is difficult to tell if all the original plates are present but I have no reason to believe they are not - some are un-numbered, the highest number shown in vol I is 24 although there are a total of 34, some fold-out. Vol I is undated Second Edition "revised with considerable additions". Vol II is 1868 and presumed 1st Edition.

The author was well-known for his standard work on 'Railway Construction'. Like other practical texts used in the field, good copies with all plates are hard to find.
