THIS IS TO ALLOW AIR MAIL, TRACKING AND INSURED POSTAGE. *** This is a UK first edition hardcover published by William Clowes in 1936. Overall I'd describe as Very Good. The book has a straight spine, sharp corners and firm spine ends. The boards are sunned in part and also along the spine. The page edges are clean with the odd fox spot. There is an owner inscription to the front end paper but that aside the pages are clean throughout. The book has 374 pages including index. The title page confirms the first publication in 1936.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A presentation copy, inscribed by the author and dated the year of publication. In buckram, bright, slightly marked in places and a little discoloured, with a touch of wear to spine ends and corner tips. 374 pp. A collection of historical and personal stories by Lt.-Col. Murphy, a career soldier with the Suffolk Regiment, including descriptions of Constantinople at the time of the Armistice. The author served in the Boer War, and in the Indian Army from 1906, and was made Lt.-Col. in 1919. He was GSO1 Turkey at the end of the Great War, and was a noted Arab interpreter. He later wrote 'The History of the Suffolk Regiment 1914-27'. Scarce, especially as signed.
