Añadir al carritoFirst edition of this work by the founder of The Kennedy Society of Denmark. Octavo, original cloth, illustrated. Association copy, lengthily inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Toreby Denmark February 2, 1982. Dear Mrs. Rose Kennedy, President John F. Kennedy cared so much for peace. Therefore I hope, you will find this commitment to keeping his ideals and visions alive - worth to share with your family and friends. Sincerely The author Svend Aage Nielsen." The recipient, Rose Kennedy, was the matriarch of the Kennedy family: the wife of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and mother of John F. Kennedy and his eight siblings. She was a devout catholic and deeply embedded in the "lace curtain" Irish American community in Boston. After her son John was elected president in 1960, Rose "became a sort of quiet celebrity" and appeared on the International Best Dressed List. Most of her social activities consisted of involvement in charities and women's groups. Very good in a very good dust jacket. An exceptional association. Danish pastor Svend Aage Nielsen founded the The Kennedy Society of Denmark in on 29th May, 1967 â" John F. Kennedyâs 50th birthday â" after a memorial service in Toreby church. The Kennedy Society's purpose is "to keep the inspiration and vision of John F. Kennedy and Robert F. Kennedy alive so that their good words can be translated into good deeds." Pastor Svend Aage Nielsen has also published a number of books including Kennedy's Philosophy of Life which draws upon both scriptural wisdom and John F. Kennedy's inauguration speech to preach how the stalemate of the status quo can be transcended to love, peace, and justice for all people.
