Dustwrapper is mildly rubbed; edgeworn with a few small tears and associated creasing; spotted on the verso; now backed by archival-quality white paper and professionally protected by superior non-adhesive polypropylene film. Number 4 in the Ariel Press series of large-format plates, this 12" x 16" (30.5 x 40.6cm) folder contains 18 stunning full colour plates, each of which with details on the reverse including Latin and common names, location and description; all in Fine condition with just the lightest touch of edgewear. The folder, with a 18x25cm cutout to the front, acts as a frame for whichever plate you choose to have at the front; very light age toning and a little light edgewear. A beautiful and scarce large-format plate collection. [Undated].

A small hole to front and an adjacent indentation. A stain to spine and adjacent areas and another at the rear, The indentation is apparent up to page xi. The plates aren't affected. Note that there is a 'soft' crease of several centimetres at the top centre of each plate. Also minor tanning to top and bottom margins of plates. The plates would present as 'good' if framed. xvi plus 24 colour plates. Size: 300mm x 400mm. Book.
