Rescued by Capt Hyde Parker H. M. S. Firebrand. Goerge Silcock Sailor Boy. Johnny & George Firebrand". Interestingly, pages 142 and 143 of "Victoria And Albert, Life At Osborne House" has a lengthy discussion of this episode. "A side-affect of hostilities had been the plight of two small Bulgarian boys, exactly the same age as the Queen's two youngest boys Arthur and Leopold, who had been left wounded and dying beside their dead parents on the beach at Kustendjeh, victims of a party of Bashi Bazouks, prowling for plunder". Furthermore, contemporary reprorts state: "Queen Victoria found this irresistable, and she no sooner heard of it than she announced her wish to take the two orphans under her wing". This all being reported in The Illustrated London News for 1854.
