EXCERPT: PREFACE - College Business Statistics is written for students enrolled in business administration programs in colleges and universities across Canada. These students are required to complete a basic statistics course, usually in the second year of their program, but often they find the course difficult because of the complexity of formulas and array of technical terms. By presenting statistical concepts in easily understandable language, this text makes a serious attempt to address the needs of these students. The book originally evolved from classroom notes developed over several years of teaching - successfully student evaluations indicate. These notes were then made into book form at Conestoga College and class-tested for eight years. The Conestoga in-house edition was revised each year taking into account the experience in the classroom, the comments given by the hundreds of students who took the course, and the suggestions of fellow faculty, who used the text for teaching students in different programs within the Business Division . . .
