Pages are lightly toned due to age but there is considerable foxing to the end pages and pastedowns as well as scattered foxing on some of the text pages (see image of title page). Vista l'aria che tira Tod decide di tornarsene al più presto in città, ma il suo proposito viene vanificato da un fatto del tutto imprevisto: un omicidio. Naturalmente gli indizi puntano in un'unica direzione, quella di Tod. Aveva l'opportunità, non ha un alibi per l'ora del delitto e, soprattutto, aveva il più antico movente del mondo.
