Hardcover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. Maitz, Don Ilustrador. 1 of 1000 copies, SIGNED by the ARTIST. ???Three individual volumes housed in an illustrated slipcase. Illustrator Don Maitz executed three wraparound full-color covers; a color slipcase housing the three volumes that make up the novel; and six double-page endpapers; not to mention thirty interior pieces, ten per volume. Strictly limited to one thousand numbered copies signed by the artist and Al Kooper, who wrote the introduction. In happy anticipation of this treasured tome you'll find yourself planning a day in the country, an outing to some sylvan grove where you might read underneath a shady tree, the map out on the table, your finger traces the secondary roads out off of the main New England throughways - Arkham - Dunwich - Kingsport - or perhaps a root beer and lobster roll to-go from a take-out counter at Innsmouth?. Signed by Artists. Book.

Hard Cover. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. Maitz, Don; Chadbourne, Glen Ilustrador. Deluxe Signed Artist Edition. Pictorial limitation page states: "This Deluxe Signed Artist Edition is Limited To 750 Number Copies. This is Number 'PC'. 'Don Maitz, "Glen Chadbourne". Features Chadbourne color image of grey emaciated figure in tub. A benchmark in the literary career of Stephen King and his third published novel following Carrie and 'Salem's Lot. The Shining stands as a cultural icon of modern horror, a searing study of a family torn apart, and a nightmarish glimpse into the dark recesses of human weakness and dementia. The Overlook Hotel claimed the most beautiful setting of any resort in the world, but the Torrance family saw much more than its splendor. Danny, blessed - or cursed - with a shining, precognitive gift saw visions hideously beyond the comprehension of a small boy. For Jack, Wendy, and their young son it is a place where past horrors come to life. And where those gifted with the shining do battle with the darkest evils. This tale of a troubled man hired to care for a remote mountain resort over the winter, slowly but steadily unfolds as secrets from the hotel's past are revealed, and the hotel itself attempts to claim the very souls of the Torrance family. "YOU'RE THE CARETAKER, SIR. YOU'VE ALWAYS BEEN THE CARETAKER. I SHOULD KNOW, SIR. I'VE ALWAYS BEEN HERE. " Rare tangible. Printed in the U.S.A. Insured post. 2017. Hardcover. Book Condition: New. Other material included is a Deleted Material section, which contains hundreds of sentences, paragraphs, and even scenes not included in the final book. Of particular interest is a four page section toward the end known as "After the Play," which even Stephen King believed had been lost forever because he didn't have a copy in his archives; an essay entitled, The Shine Manuscript; custom slipcase; printed on a heavy interior specialty paper stock; full color interior paintings by Don Maitz. 551. Royal 8vo. Bound in navy leatherette, with green and gold lettering to spine and front board, decorated endpapers, ribbon page marker, many full-page colour illustrations; gorgeous dustjacket; navy leatherette clamshell box with green and gold lettering to spine and front board, and a velvety lining. Fine in a fine dust jacket in a fine slipcase. Afterword by Mick Garris. Introduction by Stephen King and with his long lost 40 page prologue to the novel. "The fact is that The Shining is a masterwork, a bold product of an original vision, a novel of astonishing passion, urgency, tenderness, understanding, and invention In its uniting of an almost bruising literary power, a deep sensitivity to individual experience, and its operatic convictions, it is a very significant work of art" (Peter Straub). Made into the 1980 movie directed by Stanley Kubrick and starring Jack Nicolson and Shelley Duvall; it was later made into a 1997 TV mini-series starring Steven Weber and Rebecca De Mornay and with a cameo appearance by King himself. Size: 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Signed by Artists.
