Guy Carawan is best known as the folk singer that brought the song, "We Shall Overcome" to the Civil Rights Movement. The photographer was Robert Yellin, a member of the Greenbriar Boys, a well known folk group. Alan Lomax is a distinguished collector of folk music, and is responsible for the revival of many African American Spiritual and Gospel(and work)songs sung for forever in the South.
