Both volumes have similar where on the exterior going scuffing and soiling along with cracking to the leather particularly at hinges. Internal binding of the text pages in both books are good but hinges show cracking at boards and front and rear and the rear board of volume 1 is shaky. Pages show various degrees of toning and foxing is present throughout. These are ex-library copies with bookplates showing they were originally part of the St. Alphonsus church of New Orleans. Both have bookplates in the front along with the label and color stamp on the title pages. Both volumes contain numerous foldout maps and charts, all of which appear to be in good shape. Binding is original. Volume 1 contains 324 pages in volume 2 contains 326 pages.
