The title is on an illustrated pastedown on the front board. A linear 3/8 in. piece (child's shoulder) is missing from the illustration. The poems are grouped under two categories: In the Town and In the Country. All of the illustrations are graytone: 16 plates, illustrations at the head and toe of each poem, and decorative boarders in light tone. The cover's extremities have intermittent faded spots and a 1/8 in. threadbare spot from shelf wear. A bookplate is on the front pastedown. Five page margins each have a 1/8 in. stain. Two of the plates have wrinkles and closed tears on three margins; one also has a chipped corner. Scans e-mailed upon request.
