Leider muß ich Ihnen sagen, daß meine Missa pro defunctis' (Requiem) für Ober- und Unterstimme mit Orgelbegleitung bis jetzt nicht veröffentlicht ist. Ich habe dieses Werk Ende 1931 zum Gedenken meiner früh verstorbenen Mutter geschrieben und sogar mit der Opuszahl 14 versehen einmal weil mir danach zumute war und zum andern, weil ich mich mal mit dem Problem einer verhältnismäßig leicht aufführbaren, jedoch nicht ganz alltäglichen Gebrauchsmusik auseinandersetzen wollte. Ich muß gestehen, daß ich das Werkchen dann zur Seite gelegt und mich nicht mehr darum gekümmert habe. Jetzt, wo Sie mich daran erinnerten, habe ich in meinen Manuskripten gekramt und wohl die erste Niederschrift gefunden, jedoch festgestellt, daß die eigentliche Reinschrift nicht mehr in meinem Besitz ist [.]".
