Hardcover. First edition. 187pp. Quarto [28 cm] Tan cloth over boards lettered and ornamentally stamped in green on the spine and front cover. Frontispiece portrait of King Albert. Hand-tipped plates (all present). Good condition only. The spine and boards are lightly soiled and stained, and the cloth is frayed along the edges. The endsheets are cracked along the hinges, the hinges are weak, and the text block is starting to crack in several places. There is a previous owner's ink stamp on the front pastedown. Sporadic light foxing on the pages. The borders of the illustrations are occasionally slightly offset on the opposite pages. Includes illustrations by Arthur Rackham, Maxfield Parrish, Kay Nielsen, Edmund Dulac, Harrison Fisher, among others.
