Not the greatest of copies but complete with Greenaway's wonderful illustrations.

A few pages have dirty spots; a few pages have small tears but no missing pieces. First white end paper has a gift inscription written in black ink "To Gladys-from Aunt Mary Dec. 25 1888". Illustrated by Kare Greenway; music by Myles B. Foster (organist of the Founding Hospital). Engraved and printed by Edmund Evans. No DJ. Book is protected in glycine. Overall in good+ condition. Pages darkened, occasional small smudge, notation (1881) in pencil on Copyright page, else very good minus. Protected in mylar.

Reproduction of the table of contents page "laid on" to front board. (The only difference is that the contents page lists the titles of the songs, and the front cover shows the illustrator's name in that same spot.) The illustration on the front cover and the pages themselves are a little tanned, otherwise binding is tight, everything is clean and bright, no bumps, tears or creases, no markings. A small gift note (2.5 x .75 inch) is glued to the front endpaper. Words and music for the songs, illustrations on every page including endpapers.
