FULLER WAS, OF COURSE, A PROFESSOR OF POETRY AT OXFORD UNIVERSITY, SO ONE COULDN'T POSSIBLY DOUBT HIS ABILITY TO WRITE. Later the home of the Duke of Lauderdale, even amid the Restoration's luxury and prodigality it was one of the most lavish and talked-of houses in the country.
