FIRST ISSUE, although it states Vol. 1 No. 10 on copyright page, likely a misprint. One inch tears to spine top and bottom, 1/2 inch piece missing from spine bottom, corner crease, less than the usual amount of small edge tears, a VG copy.

Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. It's common for a magazine syndication to PRE-DATE the actual hard-cover "book" first edition, but that's not the case here. This is a 1940 magazine reprint of McDonald's celebrated 1938 Doubleleday-Doran novel, reportedly at full length, in 123, 7 X 9-1/2-inch pages. Also includes the 2-page William Morgan Hobbs short story "It Might Mean Murder." Page edges of this vintage pulp magazine are browning and growing fragile (edges only); this 80-year old magazine is intact in an attractive cover (missing top 3/4-inch of spine covering) but should of course be handled carefully. Reduced from $77.

Soft cover. Condición: Very Good. In very good condition for a 1952 pulp, marred by an "OCT-30" date stamp and a very faint hand-written "13" on its front cover. Its binding is tight, with slight spine lean, and just a couple of tiny chips in the spine. Its bright untrimmed covers are slightly larger than its pages, so their edges are folded over the text block and have light wear and some short closed tears. The white back cover has some very light soiling, and a bit of age toning. Its pulp pages are unmarked, whole, still supple, and lightly age toned. As with all Space Age Book purchases, I will ship this book in a moisture proof bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description.

The covers have some chipping, tears and creasing along the edges with one inch pieces missing from the surface at the top and bottom of the spine. Two inch tears to the top and bottom left corners of the front cover next to the spine. The back cover has a four inch piece of tape over it - not sure why as there doesn't seem to be a tear but it can't be removed now without damaging the surface. The pages are browned with some chipping to the edges in places and a few small tears but are generally unmarked.
