Hardcover. Condición: VG. No Jacket. Photos, Drawings, Documents and Map. Ilustrador. 1st. There have been several films based on the story of the Mutiny on the Bounty and among the earliest was that made in the 1930s by Australian author and noted film director Charles Chauvel. After producing some small-budget silent films he launched into to "talkie" age with "In the Wake of the Bounty" in 1933, starring the then virtually unknown Error Flynn as Fletcher Christian. Chauval died in 1959, a legend and pioneer of the Australian film industry. He visited both Tahiti and Pitcairn, recording some documentary footage that contains valuable anthropological scenes. His film of the Bounty mutiny contained a mixture of both recreated scenes and voiced-over documentary material. This book, of the same name, follows story of the mutiny and its consequences, the production of the film and the vists made to Tahiti and Pitcairn. First edition of 1933, 157 pages ,frontis map, 54 b/w illustrations, mainly photos with some drawings and portraits, documents.
