Libro Original o primera edición Ejemplar firmado
1st Ed., [ix]+114pp., 4to, 38 photos., 2 maps. No imprint (? for the author). [1934]. A history of the destroyer flotillas based at Harwich & their ops. in the North Sea, "the majority of these narratives are the personal experiences of the author whilst serving in a Light-Cruiser, & also a destroyer. supplemented by additional narratives from brother officers, so that the book may be as complete a record as possible of the work of this Force during the whole period of the War. Most of the photographs were taken by the author & are unique." As the work bears no imprint but for a belated label on rear cover stating that "Further copies may be obtained from The Director of Publications HMSO" & bears small ink stamps "For Private Circulation" on cover & title page, & as the Foreword page bears an ink note "Presented to Mr R. Perkins" & is signed by the author, "Claude L.A. Woollard, 'The Moorings', Bromley, Kent. 25/5/34" it was presumably privately printed for the author. Orig. dec. paper wraps., sl. creased & marked to rear o/w VG & rare. See illustration on our website.
