Dark green cloth, titled in gilt on spine & upper board, knot design on upper board. Some use and browning, good only. "Knots are elusive but very important details of the Angler's equipment. There is a bewildering variety to choose from, although the differences are often slight, and fortunately the angler need only remember very few. I have endeavoured to select the essential types and to describe them as simply as possible. The fly-dressing instructions are intended for beginners .there is a very real sense of pleasure in catching fish with flies of one's own making. That can be said also about a landing net, and if the principle of net-making is mastered many other useful articles can be produced .And if you make a plaster cast of a good fish there can be no doubt about its size afterwards!" "A new edition of his well-known book of 'hints.' In particular, it contains a recipe for treating sticky lines which will save an angler's pocket many shillings." (Where To Fish, 1933). .
