From the spine view it looks very nice, but appearances deceive: water damage to rear board and top right corner of boards. Text block unaffected and solid, but rear board cocked. See photos.

The account of an eight-month trek across Persia, undertaken in 1903 by author following his resignation from the Royal Field Artillery in India. At the time this was published in 1907, the author, Eliot Crawshay-Williams (1879-1962), was Winston Churchill's assistant private secretary at the Colonial Office. From 1910 to 1913, he served as MP for Leicester and was the parliamentary private secretary to then Chancellor of the Exchequer, David Lloyd George.
