Soft cover. Condición: Good. William A. Starmer and Frederick S. Starmer. (Both Artists Worker Under the One Name). Ilustrador. Large format sheet music, 5 pp. Light overall creasingsome tiny edgetears repaired internally. Good. Virtually anybody who has even a minimal sheet music collection that includes ragtime-era items likely has a cover done by one of the prolific Starmer Brothers. They had a consistency that was hard to match in terms of creating eye-catching cover art that did justice to or often outshined the contents within. By some accounts, they were responsible for nearly a quarter of all signed covers in large format from the late 1890s to around 1919, and continued producing cover art into the mid 1940s. Signed by Author(s).

12mo, 24pp. Caption title [as issued]. Full-page illustration, 'The Spinal Marrow and Nerves, in a Diseased Condition.' Formerly stitched, now loosened, else Very Good. The authors are alarmed by "the great increase of chronic diseases and their more suddenly fatal character, of late, than at former periods. Of all the maladies by which mankind are assailed, none is more afflictive and distressing to relatives, or more deplorable and mortifying to the sufferers themselves than nervous affections, such as palsy, fits, insanity, &c." These are caused "by disease of the spinal marrow." The authors explain their position, particularly as the disease is "not suspected by our physicians as being a cause." Not in Sabin, AI, Eberstadt, Decker, or on OCLC as of June 2020.
