The amalgamation policy was an effort to prevent a repetition of the situation that arose regarding the Northe American and Australian native peoples. However, settler opposition prevented the realisation of those objectives. 382 pages including two appendices, notes, primary sources, bibilography and index. seven b/w photos, two maps. Light brown hard covers with gilt spine titles few tiny blemishes but VG+, text block excellent. Art wrap-round DJ few small tears, light edgewear, shallow thumb-nail section missing top back edge, but VG.
