Clean text on crisp page with very mild foxing on page edges, not affecting text. Slightly bumped cover board corners. Stains on first free front-end page. Spine intact but slightly detached inside front cover board. Issued without dust jacket, very attractive buckram bindings with the original burgundy leather spine-label with gold title, top edge is gilt, absolutely beautiful copy. Just a tiny bit of rubbing to the leather label. Color decorative title page, six illustrations in volume XXII with the original protective tissue-guard, including a bright color frontris plate which shows a Marriage procession in the reign of 'The Silent Tsar'.
