Hardcover. Hardcover. First Edition. "This is a new kind of autobiography. I give a brief description of myself, but for the most part I reveal a mind in action by means of story, sketch, and essay. If you collect a considerable number of articles, written at various times, you are able to discover your dominant interests. I find that my principal interests are London, Shakespeare, Evolution, and Self-Cuture. In other words, I am a worshipper of life, for London, Shakespeare, and Evolution are large slices of life" (preface). A collection of outspoken thoughts and comments from a working man on his life, observations, and experiences in "modern" (1920s) London. Red cloth covered boards with gilt title to front board and to spine. Slight bumping to spine ends and slight rolling to spine. Minor foxing to edges of text block. Minor toning to pages. Illustrated Peach colored dust jacket with brown title to front and spine panels. Minor edge wear to jacket as well as light browning to spine, one small spot of soiling to front panel and light rubbing. 173 pages. Travel. TRAV/013112. Very Good in Very Good Dust Jacket.
