Product of field work conducted on 1928 and then again in 1930, describes the Sanpoil and Nespelem, who like other Indians of the north central Plateau, never became parties to any treaty with the U.S. They were virtually ignored by the government and were accorded little attention by others. In 1872, they were concentrated into a reservation. From the collection of Wayne Prescott Suttles, renowned anthropologist, scholar, and linguist regarding many Pacific cultures, and especially the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast Salish people.
