Hardcover. Condición: Near Fine. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Two volumes in one book: Coup-D'Oeil sur La Province De Hainaut and Dictionnaire Geographique de la Province De Hainaut. Quite clean interior with v, 396 and 527 pages with occasional spotting, and 15 folded tables at rear, French text. Rebound brown cloth hard cover with gilt titles and gilt catalogue number on spine, but no cover wear. Inside the front cover is a small and discrete hand written library number, but none of the other usual lending library stamps. 1st edition published as 2 volumes in one book in 1833 and is in near fine condition.

First Edition. Vandermaelen's monumental Atlas Universel (six volumes) was the first lithographically produced atlas and the first to show the world on a uniform scale, of 1:1,641,836. This is the first part of the second volume, devoted to Asia, and contains the complete series of maps on eastern Russia and Siberia, including separate maps of Kamtschatka, the Aleutian and Kurile Islands. There are also maps of China, Tartary, Turkey, Persia, Turkestan, and Korea.
