Volume in grande formato (26x38 cm). Prima edizione di quest'opera importante dedicata alla gloria dei poeti e dei musicisti del Grand Si cle, durante il regno di Luigi XIV. Comprende anche gli Appunti di poesia e musica, con inserimento di Lettera di un abitante del Parnaso a M. Titon du Tillet. Bella tavola a piena pagina incisa da Tardieu che rappresenta il monumentale gruppo bronzeo che Tillet aveva progettato di erigere (si vede in cima al Parnaso, Luigi XIV come Apollo; in basso, le Tre Grazie sono rappresentate da Madames de La Suze, des Houli res e de Scud ry; intorno al monte, al posto delle Nove Muse: Corneille, Moli re, Racan, Segrais, La Fontaine, Chapelle, Racine, Boileau e Lully con in mano il medaglione di Quinaulte). In antiporta ritratto inciso dell'autore, all'interno 12 tavole con 49 medaglioni incisi raffiguranti scrittori e musicisti, realizzati da L. Cr py, tra cui Racan, Moli re, Henriette de Coligny, Pierre Corneille, Lully, Quinault, Claude-Emmanuel Loullier (Chapelle), Mme Deshouli res, La Fontaine, Racine, Segrais, Madeleine de Scud ry, Boileau e Jean-Baptiste Rousseau. Esemplare particolarmente interessante appartenuto all'assistente del Re. Inoltre sono presenti 2 lettere manoscritte di cui una firmata da Tillet stesso. Bella copia.
