Librería: Old Book Shop of Bordentown (ABAA, ILAB), Bordentown, NJ, Estados Unidos de America
Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: good. Smaller format hardcover in decoraetd paper covered boards. 189 pp. Bound from the British sheets with World Wide Publishing (New York) imprint of title page and jacket. Inexpensive reprint edition on the typical fragile stock and thus somewhat uncommon to have survived. No date but circa 1929 or 1930 when most World Wide titles seem to heve been produced. Very good, typial embrowning to the paper. In the origninal color illustrated dust wrapperwith chipping to the head and foot of spine, short closed tear rear panel and some other faults. Originally published in Britain in 1908, the tale of two children---a boy and a girl--left stranded on a beautiful tropical island in the South Seas. Unfettered by social customs and without the guidance of civil laws, as they mature, they fall in love with each other. The basis for four film versions, the first a silent in 1923 and the most famous (or infamous if you're so inclined based on the theme of sexuality and the nudity of the two then-underaged actors) the 1980 version starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins.

First Edition. Interesting contemporary novel of a man who chases his dreams, who "met in with the goblin folk, how he attended their market, what he bought there and how it served him". Not listed in Bleiler, but perhaps a border line fantasy novel. Perhaps Stacpoole's most well-known novel is The Blue Lagoon, basis for the scintillating Brook Sheilds' film. Fantastic stylized dustjacket art. Near Fine in bright Very Good plus dustjacket.
