On the day in 1940 when Cleveland Indians pitcher Bob Feller recorded the only opening day no-hitter in baseball history, the opposing pitcher was Smith, who debuted in 1936 with the Philadelphia Athletics before moving to the Chicago White Sox; in 1947 he retired from the Boston Red Sox. Signed facsimile of Chicago's Comiskey Park floor plan, heavy stock 8½" X 11", n.p., n.d. [dated 1990 in pencil on verso in another hand]. Fine. Unusual and interesting, boldly signed in Smith's later years in blue ballpoint.
