    (SERMONS, AMERICAN - 18TH CENTURY) A COLLECTION OF FIVE SERMONS, INCLUDING A DIRGE AND A MONODY, BY VARIOUS AUTHORS. All published in eastern Massachusetts (Boston and Salem), 1767-1796. (Detailed descriptions of the sermons in this volume appear below.) Small quarto: 21 cm. 175 pp. in total. Four of five half-titles are present. Early ownership of Charles Lowell in three of the sermons. Text leaves are mostly clean but for the last sermon, which is lightly foxed and lightly toned throughout, and the paper quality is very good overall. A few leaves in the first sermon show slight wear at the top-edge, but nothing serious, and one leaf has marginal loss at top fore-corner without loss of text. In a handsome modern binding of marbled boards with a black calf shelfback, in fine condition. TUCKER, John.
